Reading to the kids…

What’s up everyone,

We are about 2 weeks away from everyone getting their books & books hitting book stores near you. As you all may know I went on the news a few days ago to talk about my book and only due to the good people @ NOLA Copy & Print did I have a real book to go on air with. Thanks Percy!! Now that I have a physical book, although it’s just a mock copy, I can’t help but go out and read it to who ever will listen. I’ve known this story for about a year and I’ve been talking about for just as long so now that I have the chance to share it I am. Next week I’ll be visiting T.H. Harris, Ben Franklin Elementary & two others school that haven’t been confirmed yet. At each school I’m going to read my story to the kids, pass out coloring sheets from the black & white images from my book & hopefully all the kids will help me out when we get to the parts where we cheer “WHO DAT, WHO DAT, WHO DAT SAY DEY GONNA BEAT DEM SAINTS!!”

This will be my first time reading to kids so it should be fun. Throughout the rest of the school year and during the summer I’m going to read to every school, class, organization, summer camp, retreat, conference, field trip and group that there is. I’m working with a few sponsors now that may donate one book for each kid I read to. I’ll let you know how it turns out. Also, next Saturday, April 2nd, I’ll be doing a live interview with WDSU at 9:45 am. That’s NBC for all my New Orleans folks and for those of you who won’t be able to see it, I’ll post it on my blog that same day. So until next time…..
