What’s up everybody. I’m sorry I haven’t been posting as much lately but I’ve still been reading at schools all over New Orleans. I promise! Over the past month, I’ve been very busy working on a new crowdfunding site for projects created in and about New Orleans called FundDat.  It isn’t much yet, but OH BUDDY, just you wait!!!

I haven’t put out a new book in over a year and it’s about that time. So, before we have any new The Little Who Dat books (which, we will this fall), I want to release a new book titled, A Thorn in my Horn. This new book explores the life of a kid musician in New Orleans who loves to play his horn! The only problem is that his mother can’t stand the noise. She’s literally a thorn in his horn… I came up with the concept for the book while guest hosting for Delfeayo Marsalis on Future Focus, a TV show on a NOA-TV, a local network in New Orleans. My guest for the evening was chair of the classical instrumental department at NOCCA, Dr. Jee Yeoun Ko. Although the book isn’t entirely based on her experience, I think she mentioned that her parents weren’t entirely excited about her musical endeavors. However it happened, the idea fired off into my mind during our interview and a few days later, while riding a bus from Baton Rouge, the book basically wrote itself.

Above is an early drawing of what the character & book will look like. Anybody wanna help me name him???
